Please Note - Clarification of Terminology
Lactic acid is NOT a energy system and therefore lactic acid SHOULD NOT be used by students as a type of energy system. The correct terms for the three energy systems, as identified in the study design, are the:
- 'ATP-PC' system,
- 'Anaerobic Glycolysis' and the
- 'Aerobic' energy system.
For assessment purposes lactic acid is NOT acceptable terminology to identify the 'Anaerobic Glycolysis' energy system.
